Residents of the Village of Makharadze Blame the Local Governor’s Office for Appropriating a Sum of Money

August 25, 2009

Residents of the Village of Makharadze, in the Gurjaani District, blame the Local Governor’s Office for appropriating money, namely, 30 000 GEL, that was provided for the humanitarian program “ Money for all Villages”

The residents of the village reported that the amount of money was provided in order to restore roads and water channels, but the problems have not been solved yet.

They have not constructed a water system at all. They only dug up the roads and left it. It is impossible to go out in the street when it rains,” noted residents of the Village of Makharadze.

Goga Petruzashvili, Deputy Local Governor of the Gurjaani District, denies the accusations. According to him, within the terms of the humanitarian program 9 126 GEL was provided for the village of Makharadze and the amount of money was spent on gravel, for cleaning flow systems and other constructive works.
