Street Cleaners Request Their Wages in Gurjaani

September 3, 2009

Over 60 employees of the Communal Service Office in Gurjaani request their wages for July and August in 2009. The street cleaners state unless the company pays their wages in several days, they will refuse to clean the town.

65 people are employed at Grujaani Communal Service Office in total. 45 of them clean the town and 20 other clean administrative buildings. The Communal Service Office is funded from the local budget.

According to the district administration, they have debt to the Communal Service. Accountant of the office Lamara Ghirsiashvili clarified that the reason for the delay in wages is unpaid tax imposed by the Kakheti Tax Inspection. Street cleaners said the head of the Communal Service Office Davit Imerlishvili spent the budget sums unreasonably and the company always encounters problems in distributing the wages.
