“As it was reported to the society, several online and printed media sources have launched information campaign against Orthodox Church. Yesterday, it was reported that Patriarch of Georgia sanctified murderers of Aleksandre Girgvliani to serve in the monastery. This information astonished the society. I would like to inform everybody that the Patriarch of Georgia did not participate in the pardoning process of the convicted people; neither they were sent to the monastery by the patriarch,” said Father Davit Sharashenidze, spokesperson of the Patriarchate.
