Georgian Sailors Detained in Philippines Urge Government for Help

Detained Georgian sailors in Philippines are in very bad conditions. They ask the government of Georgia for help. One of the sailors detained in Malaga Tamaz Malakmadze called InterpressNews and informed about the fact.

 “We are at immigration camp in Manila; there is not enough food and water. We are in very bad conditions but nobody has come to inquire our problems and to assist us. 5 Georgian prisoners from initially detained 13 were taken somewhere four days ago and we do not know anything about them”, said Tamaz Malakmadze.

Ship under Panama flag was detained on August 17. There were 13 Georgian sailors on the board. According to the information the ship was transporting smuggled weapons.
