Mother of 10 Children Went on Strike in Kutaisi City Hall

September 9, 2009

Marine Dakhundaridze went on a strike after she could not meet the single mandate MP from Kutaisi Akaki Bobokhidze. Consequently, she started the strike in the waiting room of Bobokhidze’s office.

“The MP, I have voted for, has not found at least 10 minutes to listen to me within one year,” said Marine Dakhundaridze to the journalists.

She wanted to meet the MP to inform him about corrupted officials. More precisely, she complains about Gizo Tavadze, head of Culture Department in Kutaisi who misappropriated the aid to the mothers of many children and hushed up the criminal prosecution that was launched on the fact.

Representatives of the Kutaisi office of the MP said that Akaki Bobokhidze has met the woman several times; he is ready to listen to her again but the MP is not in Kutaisi today.
