Levan Gogichaishvili Pleads not Guilty at Trial

Opposition activist Levan Gogichaishvili pleaded not guilty at Tbilisi City Court.

As InterpressNews was informed by Tbilisi City Court, Gogichaishvili was questioned on the trial yesterday. Another accused in the case Giorgi Alkhazishvili was also questioned and he did not plead guilty either. Dispute between the sides will be held on the next court hearing scheduled for September 17.

Gogichaishvili is accused for premeditated injury of the other person’s health and hooliganism; Alkhazishvili is accused of hooliganism. The investigation launched on the incident in July of 2009, after birthday party of Irina Batiashvili, Irakli Batiashvili’s (opposition leader) daughter, when Davit Lezhava was wounded.
