Giorgi Ghviniashvili: “If Anybody Throws Grapes in front of the Regional Governor’s Administration, We Will Launch Criminal Investigation”

September 25, 2009

Kakheti regional governor stated in his interview with the Telavi based regional TV Company “Tanamgzavri” that if somebody dares to throw grapes in front of the regional governor’s administration they will start criminal investigation on the fact.

The governor made the statement after the representative of the Telavi office of the New Rights Nika Vardoshvili said that peasants in Kakheti region face problems of selling the grape to vineries. Vardoshvili added that disappointed peasants might throw grapes in front of the Kakheti regional administration.

The regional governor was asked why he considered similar behavior to be a crime. “The criminal investigation will be launched and law enforcement bodies will conclude whether it is crime or not. The harvest is going on successfully. Vineries accept even hybrid grapes and those who will throw grape in the street are enemies of the society.”
