Telavi District Governor Spent 10 000 USD from the Budget to Buy a New Car

01.10.2009
Vasil Davitashvili, Telavi district governor, has spent 10 000 USD from the local budget to purchase a new jeep of Nisan; he has been driving it for several days already.

“Based on the decision of the municipality board the jeep was purchased for the military commissariat. I do not have a car and before I buy one I will drive that new car,” said Vasil Davitashvili.

It must be pointed out that before the new car was bought, the district governor was driving a very comfortable car “Mercedes”; the car belonged to the Telavi district administration.

Several days ago, natural disaster in Telavi district caused damage of 180 000 GEL. Several families were seriously damaged but local authority refused them to assist because there are no sums in the budget.
