Residents of the Village of Iormughanlo in Sagarejo District Oppose Company Socar

October 13, 2009

Residents of the village of Iormughanlo in Sagarejo district opposed the Azerbaijan Company “Socar”, which is distributing gas in Kakheti region.

Residents of Iormughanlo state the company supplied only one part of the village with gas and consequently only 4 families can use it. However, TV Companies reported that the entire village was supplied with gas.

“In fact we have to install pipes to supply our families with gas and it is too expensive. Besides that we have to pay double price of the gas. Initially they promised the company will install the pipes but they deceived. In such situation only 10 percent of villagers will manage to use gas,” said the villagers. According to the official data more than 4 000 families live in Iormughanlo.

President of the Company Rovang Abdulaev and Minister of Energy of Georgia Aleksandre Khetaguri supplied one family in Lagodekhi District short time ago and TV Companies reported that the district was supplied with gas. However, Socar supplied only 4 families in Lagodekhi district too.
