Convicted Was Ruthlessly Beaten When He Was Transported To New Prison in Kutaisi

October 20, 2009

Bailiffs ruthlessly beat the prisoner when he was being taken to the new building of Kutaisi Prison N 2.

Manana Kobakhidze from the non-governmental organization Article 42 of the Constitution stated that despite the harassment the criminal case was launched against the prisoner for resisting the bailiffs. “Currently, he is being interrogated. Beating prisoners during transporting is ordinary fact,” said Kobakhidze.

The incident happened two days ago when the prisoners were transported from the Rustavi Prison N 2 to a new detention setting in Kutaisi.
