Jehovah Witnesses Blame Law Enforcement Officers in Negligence

November 10, 2009

Jehovah witnesses blame Sagarejo District policemen and officials of the patrol police department in Kakheti region in negligence.

According to Jehovah witnesses, local people insulted and physically assaulted their witnesses twice; but police has not investigated those facts.

“In Sagarejo district they threw stones and glass bottles at the “Royal Hall” of Jehovah witnesses; the building was damaged and M. Iakoshvili, the Jehovah witness, was assaulted and insulted. The witnesses were attacked twice in one day though police did not react on it. Case of Nachkhebia was also neglected who was beaten because he was Jehovah witness,” said the witnesses.

Local orthodox residents state Jehovah witnesses were preaching in front of the school and gave out their booklets to pupils. Besides that, Jehovah witnesses visit local residents and suggest them to join them. Some people get astonished at it. “There are occasions when they come to our houses and preach for a long time; shall we force them out?” complained residents of Sagarejo.
