Maestro-TV Was Assigned to Erosi Kitsmarishvili for Three-Year-Management

November 13, 2009

TV-Company Maestro was assigned to Erosi Kitsmarishvili, head of Rustavi Media-Management Company for three-year-management. One of the founders of the TV-Company Mamuka Ghlonti announced about it in the office of the “Maestro TV”.

Mamuka Ghlonti stated that according to the agreement between the TV-company founders and Erosi Kitsmarishvili, editorial independence will be guaranteed at 100 %.

“Maestro was not sold to Nino Burjanadze or Irakli Alasiania. I am stating it with full responsibility,” said Ghlonti.

Erosi Kitsmarishvili said they have agreed on the collaboration forms and Mamuka Ghlonti, as founder of the company, will have right to veto decisions.

“We do not exclude possibility that we will see many journalists on the Maestro who do not have access to journalistic activities. They can be old faces of the TV-Company Rustavi 2. However, we will focus on the journalists who already work for “Maestro”, said Kitsmarishvili.

He added that main direction of the company will be unbiased reporting. Council of Supervisors will control the company which will be staffed with the representatives of media and non-governmental organizations.

Kitsmarishvili has not mentioned sources of financing. However, the funds will be transparent and legal.
