National Forum Blames Kakheti Electricity Distribution Company in Extorting Money from Subscribers

November 17, 2009

Political party “National Forum” blames JSC Kakheti Electricity Distribution Company in extorting money from subscribers. Representative of the National Forum Niko Orvelashvili reported to the Kakheti News Center that residents of the village of Didi Chailuri in Sagarejo district have to pay extra bills. Unless they pay the bills, the electricity supply will be cut for them.

“Group of people handed out electricity bills to the residents in the village which does not provide information about the spent electricity or the price of electricity. However, according to the bills the subscribers have to pay large sums. Part of the people, who could not pay the bill, does not have electricity. “Kakheti Electricity Distribution Company extorts money from subscribers. The company started such impudent activity long time ago. The situation is terrible in this field in the region,” said Niko Orvalashvili.

Spokesperson of the JSC Kakheti Electricity Distribution Company Jana Didebashvili made comment on the accusations of the National Forum: “It is politicians’ duty to speak much and blame various organizations in many violations. Our responsibility is to work and we have much to do. So, we do not have time for comments.”
