Representatives of the “Tavisupleba” State Konstantine Gamsakhurdia Was Threatened with Physical Liquidation

Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, the head of the temporary parliamentary commission which investigates the death of first president of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia, was threatened with physical liquidation. Mirian Patarkatsishvili, personal assistant of Konstantine Gamsakhurdia made a statement at the briefing in the office of the political party “Tavisupleba”.

According to Patarkatsishvili, on November 14 at 12.30 pm an anonymous person called him and warned to stop activities of the commission otherwise the head and members of the commission will be killed.

Patarkatsishvili connects the phone call with the murder of Tamaz Ninua, the minister of security during the presidency of Zviad Gamsakhurdia.

According to Patarkatsishvili, commission had information that Ninua had promised to give interesting materials about the death of Zviad Gamsakhurdia to them.

Political Party “Tavisupleba” is working on the appeal about blackmailing and petitions to the MIA to investigate this anonymous call to avoid similar facts in future.

Mirian Patarkatsishvili stated that the commission which investigates the causes of the death of Zviad Gamsakhurdia will not stop working, despite any kind of threat and blackmailing.
