Gurjaani District Court Did not Grant the Appeal of Bank of Georgia

November 20, 2009

Shalva Mchedlishvili, the judge at Gurjaani district court, did not grant the appeal of the Bank of  Georgia against  citizens Medea Zautishvili, Zviad and Avtandil Shavliashvili, as well as against Givi and Sopio Mazanashvili on imposing fine and realization of  the mortgaged property for 67 000 USD.

According to the law department of the Bank of Georgia, Medea Zautashvili took loan of 34 000 USD loan in 2003 and has not paid yet; consequently she has to pay fines for the delay. The bank appealed to the court in 2008 and requested to impose fine on Medea Zautashvili and to sell her mortgaged property.

After discussing the case, the fact of taking the loan from the Bank of Georgia was not confirmed. Zautishvili requested to annul the credit agreement, which was not satisfied either.

According to the law department of the Bank of Georgia, the amount of the credit was 34 000 USD which was really released by the bank. However, employees of the bank misappropriated the money, and it was exposed by the court. However, criminal case was not launched against the employees of the bank yet.
