The Citizens Detained By Tskhinvali Regime Are Still in Prison

Tamar Khidasheli, the head of Young Lawyers Association and International Law attorneys of GYLA meet with the family members of Georgian detainees, who were illegally detained in Tskhinvali. The purpose of the meeting is to inform society in detail about the facts of detention.

Young Lawyers Association of Georgia submitted a suit to the Human Rights European Court against Russian Federation, because of the fact, that Tskhinvali Regime detained the inhabitants of Gori District on September 17 – Giorgi Archvadze, Zviad Kobaladze, David Kapanadze and Demur Chighladze.

According to the Young Lawyers Association of Georgia, GYLA welcomes the release of Giorgi Romelashvili and Aleko Tsabadze on December 2, also, release of Ossetian 5 men. Though, worries that, after the armed conflict of August, 2008 increased the frequency of kidnapping or detaining of citizens from the territory of so-called South Ossetia Administrative Board. Correspondingly, it is necessary interested party to carry out prevential measures, which will help to avoid this kind of facts in future.

Besides this, GYLA is ready to give juridical aid to the arbitrary prisoners and their family members.
