The Human Rights Centre Investigates the Fact of Oppression on Journalist

The Human Rights Centre investigates the fact of oppression on Journalist Madona Batiashvili. According to the HR defender organization, they have already interrogated witnesses.

According to the Human Rights Centre, several witnesses did not deny that Maia Bitarishvili official from Gurjaani district administration prevented journalist Madona Batiashvili from hre professional working.

“We have not studied the case completely, we shall publish information in details as soon as we finish. In case of need we shall apply to proper persons or organizations to react” explained HR defender organization.

According to radio “Hereti”, correspondent Madona Batiashvili was prevented from professional working on January 23. The main theme of discussion was the problems of ossetian village of Kitaani in Gurjaani district. Official from district administration board Maia Bitarishvili threatened Madona Batiashvili in Kitaani while she was fulfilling her professional duty. Official requested journalist to leave the village and than warned not to arrive in the village again, otherwise she will have problems. Besides representative of district municipality board called upon citizens which were gatherd around journalist not to say anything against district governor, because of which live broadcasting was delayed” reports radio according journalists information.
