You Requested Electricity Supply and You Have It! –Saakashvili Was Speaking Like Messiah in Marneuli District

March 24, 2010

People say, a person is always accompanied by his/her sins wherever s/he goes; but it does not work for Saakashvili. On his way to Marneuli district to congratulate locals with Novruz Bayram holiday, Mikheil Saakashvili did not meet fathers of the killed sons and people with deprived properties.

Marneuli district is the place where leaders of local organization of the National Movement (the ruling party) do not have to urge local people to come to the meeting with Mikheil Saakashvili when he arrives in the district. People are coming here voluntarily and are always glad to clap for the president.

“You all remember the life here when I was elected president. I faced many challenges! Marneuli did not have electricity; you requested the electricity supply and you are now supplied without any problems,” said the president to the people.

After he congratulated the locals with the holiday in Azeri language, he spoke about a “present” too. “I want you to know that we have decided to enable Azeri students and students of other ethnic minorities to take National Exams according to a simplified program in order not to compel them to leave Georgia to get high education abroad; we will support you to learn at the universities without any protection, bribe and illegal deals.”

Azeri population of Georgia celebrate Navrus Bayram holiday every year. It is the first day of the spring and new calendar and New Year for them; the day when day and night is equal.

The president in Marneuli behaved like a star-boy. He was interrupted by the people shouting “Misha!” several times. Sometimes, Kvemo Kartli regional governor Davit Kirkitadze interrupted him asking: “Shall we translate this sentence?”
