49 % of the Interviewed People Will Take Part in the Local Self-Governmental Elections

According to the survey of the Republic Institute of America (IRI), 49 % of the interviewed people will take part in the elections of the self-government.

People were asked: “If the elections of the local self-government are next week, will you take part in it?”

49 % of the interviewed people said they will take part in the elections for sure; 29 % of people intend to take part in it; 7% is determined to take part in the elections; 5 % thinks they will not vote and 10 % did not answer the question at all.

Respondents were asked whether they agree with the decision of several political parties not to take part in the elections. 35 % of the people categorically condemned it; 14 % partly condemned it; 8 % was agree with the parties; 17 % was partly agree with them; 26 % could not answer the question.

The survey was carried out by the consulting companies IPM with the financial support of the IRI and the USAID. In total 1 800 citizens of Georgia over 18 were interviewed; among them 1000 people were interviewed in the regions of Georgia and 800 in the capital.
