Kobuleti District Governor Pretended to Be On Holiday to Avoid Comments

April 13, 2010
Adjara office of the Human Fights Center requested Kobuleti district governor Vasil Tavartkiladze to make comments about the family victimized by natural disaster. Tavartkiladze sent the journalist to his deputy Aslan Kurshubadze for the comments because he said he has been on holiday since April 12.

Initially, spokesperson of the district administration Natia Zoidze did not know that the governor was on holiday.

The Human Rights Center got in touch with the chairperson of the municipality board Sulkhan Takidze at the end of the working day at 5:40 pm; as the center cleared up, the chairperson of the municipality board had not received the holiday application of the governor yet.

The chancellery of the Kobuleti district administration confirmed the same.

The Human Rights Center got in touch with Vasil Tavartkiladze. He said he had written the application only on April 12.
