The US Embassy Limited Travel of Its Employees to Pankisi Gorge

The US State Department warns the US citizens to refrain from the traveling to the conflict regions of Georgia. The US Embassy in Georgia decided to limit the visits of their employees in Pankisi Gorge. The Statement was published on the official website of the US State Department.

“The Department of State continues to warn US citizens of the risk of travel to certain regions of Georgia.  The US Embassy in Georgia has limited travel for its employees in the Pankisi Gorge,” statement of the US State Department. 

The Kakheti regional governor Giorgi Ghviniashvili and the head of the Kakheti regional department of the MIA Davit Kokiashvili categorically deny the allegation about some danger in Pankisi Gorge.

“There is absolutely calm situation in the gorge. There is no threat there,” said the Kakheti Regional Governor Giorgi Ghviniashvili.
