Guram Chakhvadze: “Single Mandate Candidate from Zemo Alvani Village Shall Be Detained”

May 11, 2010
Inter-fraction group of the parliament discussed the pre-election violations observed by the non-governmental organizations and political parties. The group members paid particular attention to the oppression on the pupils of the 12th form of the public school in Zemo Alvani village in Askhmeta district by the single mandate candidate of the village Beso Kizilashvili.

“In Zemo Alvani, the single mandate candidate from the ruling party Beso Kizilashvili threatened the pupils of the 12th form with recruiting them to the army unless they voted for the National Movement. This fact is astonishing.  Adults should not have feeling that their election rights are breached and their recruitment in the army depends on the kind will of the ruling party. Kizialashvili shall be arrested,” said Chakhvadze.

Kakheti News Center reported about the fact on May 5. Several pupils of the 12th form confirmed the fact in their interview with the Kakheti News Center. Kizilashvili denies the fact of oppression on the pupils. “You should check the information together with me and you will see none of the pupils will confirm the information. I do not care what they are saying in my absence,” said Kizilashvili.
