Monitoring organization Transparency International – Georgia sues the employees of the Gurjaani district administration and municipality board – Nika Nizharadze, Jemal Shalashvili, Robert Arkishvili and Davit Gogebashvili – at the Central Election Commission.

According to the TI-Georgia, the abovementioned officials participated in the pre-election campaign of the ruling party. The monitoring organization requests the CEC to discuss and respond to the violation.

Chairman of the CEC Zurab Kharatishvili stated that the CEC sent letter to the Gurjaani district election commission and requested to provide them with information whether the people on the photo provided by the TI-Georgia were local public officials and whether they were on holiday on April 29 when the candidates of the National Movement were introduced.

Gurjaani district election commission has to reply to the CEC before 6:00 pm of May 26.
