People from Occupied Perevi Voted in the Vilalge of Jvriashi

42 000 voters were registered in Sachkhere election district # 50 for the municipal elections. Among them 1 008 were residents of the occupied Perevi village. The turnout of the voters in Sachkhere district was 52 %. Only 35 % of Perevi population could participate in the elections. They voted in the polling station of Jvariashi village; however, many of them could not leave the occupied territory.

According to locals, people left Perevi on the previous days to participate in the elections. If they started to cross the border on May 30, Russian occupants could notice it. About 12% of people crossed the border on May 30; the rest 23 % left Perevi village on the previous days and stayed at relatives.

People left Perevi village by the bus which runs to the village twice a day. No incidents occurred when crossing the so-called border.

Chairwoman of Sachkhere DEC Nato Mumladze said they have not received any complaints from NGOs or any political parties.

In Sachkhere DEC # 50 the National Movement won the elections.
