Telavi District Court Did Not Satisfy Suit of the Representative of the Alliance for Georgia

June 4, 2010

Judge Natela Jashiashvili at the Telavi District Court did not satisfy the suit of the representative of the Alliance for Georgia Zurab Danelishvili; he requested to annul the election results at the polling station # 47 in Gurjaani district.

The judge discussed the appeal during 7 hours. The witnesses confirmed that there were no signatures of the commission members on the control paper after the ballot box was opened; they said it was caused by the activity of the observers.

“They argued about every detail and we forgot to sign the control paper. We were so nervous that we forgot everything,” said the chairwoman of the polling station, Guliko Rostoshvili. Although the violations were confirmed, the judge did not satisfy the appeal. Jashiashvili said that the violation did not impact the election results.
