June 29, 2010
Last week new district governors were appointed in Imereti region. The regional governor introduced several of them to the population. Koba Kandelaki became the governor in Samtredia district; he was particularly active during elections.

Davit Tabushadze is new Bagdadi district governor who was interim district governor during the pre-election campaign. Before that he worked at the Financial Police. He was promoted because of successful “pre-election campaign”.

Otar Chitaishvili will be the governor in Tskaltubo district. He has long experience in the law enforcement structures. He worked for the state security institutions since 1981. He occupied positions from operative worker till the head of the Tskaltubo district security department. He was vice-colonel of the security department.

Imereti region deputy governor Giga Shushania attended the introduction of Chitaishvili to the position in Tskaltubo district. Lasha Makatsaria and Giga Shushania are people who came to the high positions from law enforcement agencies. Makatsaria ordered all three district governors to continue working in the same way as they worked before elections.
