Employees of “Nitrogen” Factory Miss Geno Malazonia

July 2, 2010

After the director-general of the JSC “Energy Invest” Geno Malazonia was arrested, the administration of the subordinated company “Nitrogen” started speaking about improved working conditions.

“They said Malazonia was misappropriating our money; he had two salary-registers for us –one for 300 GEL which we in fact received and the second where we received 700 GEL. They promised the situation would improve after his detention and we would have increased salaries. However, nobody has received increased salaries yet. Besides that, we have lost our old rights. They prohibited us to enter the administrative building. For example, if we want to meet the accountant and find out problems related with our salaries, we cannot enter the building,” said an employee of the factory.

After the director-general was arrested, the workers were shown the salary-register of Geno Malazonia according to which his monthly salary was exposed in 6 figures. Despite the hope, nothing has changed for the better at the enterprise after Malazonia’s arrest.
