Hillary Clinton: “The USA Was Shocked By the Occupation of Georgia”

The occupation of Georgia shocked the USA. The US state secretary Hillary Clinton stated during her meeting with Georgian leader women in the National Library of Georgia.

Clinton said that the USA will never put up with the occupation of Georgia. “We were shocked when Georgia was occupied and invaded. We will never put up with the situation; however, we should admit that it is not easy to resolve this problem. We support the Geneva Negotiations and we always openly declare our positions about Georgia to Russia,” said Clinton.

Clinton added that the USA tries to protect Georgia from further threats.

Hillary Clinton thinks that Georgia will manage unification though reinforcement of democracy and development of economy. She said that the more democratic and economically stronger Georgia will be the bigger chance it will have for reintegration.

 “You should work hard for the democracy and economical development. Then you will have huge difference between Abkhazia, South Ossetia and the rest of Georgia. It will attract them to live in united Georgia,” said Clinton.
