13-year-old Child Injured in Akhmeta Summer Camp

July 7, 2010
13-year-old T.M. was brutally beaten in Akhmeta summer camp. He has injuries on the face and abdomen. The head of the Akhmeta district medical emergency service Lia Imedashvili reported to the Kakheti News Center that the emergency brigade took the child to the district hospital.  The doctors diagnosed the child has his collarbone broken.

The health conditions of the adult are stable now. A witness of the incident said that the quarrel between the children lasted about 20 minutes. He said that he was trying to call the supervisors but they arrived at the place only after T. M. was already brutally beaten. The Akhemta district police department started investigation.

The Akhmeta district administration, which funds the summer camp, does not comment on the incident.

Kakheti regional administration spread information yesterday that summer camp for socially disabled children was opening in Akhmeta today and will work till the new school-term starts. In fact, the summer camp started working two weeks ago.
