Reformed Georgian Judiciary: Beyond the Façade

A new investigative film “Presents to Kublashvili” [Chairmen of the Supreme Court of Georgia] will be screened during the meeting. The screening will be followed by a public discussion among human rights defenders, lawyers, and politicians, representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations, donor organizations and the media.   

The public discussion will focus on the issue of the reformed Georgian judicial system, highlight its achievements, shortcomings and the key challenges these shortcomings are posing to human rights defenders  in their work. 

Manana Kobakhidze, Executive Director of NGO Article 42, Ucha Nanuashvili, Executive Director of NGO Human Rights Center (HRIDC) and a journalist Tamar Chikovani will deliver keynote speeches. The discussion will be facilitated by Ana Natsvlishvili, Coordinator of the South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders in Georgia. 

The event will take place in Art-Café Karavani. Address: 10 Purtseladze Street, Tbilisi, Georgia. 

The South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders is a Network uniting 30 human rights organizations from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. The Network seeks to facilitate creation of a safer and enabling environment for human rights defenders, to raise awareness about human rights situation and to strengthen the voice of the civil society in the Region.

The Human Rights Center (HIRDC) is the Coordinator of the Project Creation of the South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders in Georgia. International partner of the project is Human Rights House Foundation (Norway).
