The November 7th Movement asks the Government to Create a Fund for Elders and the Helpless

July 16, 2010

The November 7th movement asks the government to create a fund for assistance of elders and the helpless. According to the press-conference statement by the member of the movement, Misha Mumladze, the fund, with government financing, should be created. It would help beggar children, elders and others that are helpless. According to Mumladze, beggar children are potential criminals.
“As for elderly, it is clear that an 80 Lari pension is not enough to cover taxes and medicines. Some of them do not even have relatives to rely on or a flat to live in. They live in the streets. The funds must be allocated from the budget in order to help these people”, stated Mumladze.
According to him, there is no allowance or aid for the above mentioned group of people.
Members of the organization do not possess the information on the number of such people or whether the number is has been accurately calculated or not.
