Vera Kobalia lied about her Qualifications - The Vancouver Sun

July 29, 2010
The Canadian newspaper claims that Vera Kobalia falsified her biography. Vera Kobalia has never been the producer of the Canadian Television Company “Global TV”.

This information is reported by the newspaper “The Vancouver Sun”. The article about the Minister of Economics and Sustainable Development was written by the Canadian journalist, Kathryn Holloway. The journalist begins with a photo of a  younger Vera Kobalia pictured with her friends at a night club.

Then the journalist delves into Vera Kobalia’s biography and cites information posted on the website of the Ministry of Economics.

“According to her official biography, Kobalia graduated from King George’s School (1999) and BGIT (2004). Additionally, it states that Kobalia has worked at the television company “Global TV” as a producer. However, the “Global TV” newsroom has never heard of her. Petra Mehner, from the human resources department, stated that the company doesn’t have any mention of a Vera Kobalia in their records.

The Vancouver Sun also reported that BGIT has neither confirmed nor denied the information as to whether Vera Kobalia was even a student there.

“As the institution commented, they don’t give out this kind of information for the purpose of protecting one’s private life,’’ stated the article.
