Journalists asking the Public Defender to react upon the incident

The journalists Gela Mtivlishvili and Madona Batiashvili are asking public defender George Tugushi to react upon the incident occurred in the Ministry of Envitornmental Protection and Natural Resources.

“The detailed information about the incident was spread by public information sources. But public defender never showed interest towards this fact. Therefore, we are asking him to react upon it,” – states Gela Mtivlishvili.

The officials of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Alverd Chankseliani and Khatuna Akhalaia, physically insulted the journalists Madona Batiashvili and Gela Mtivlishvili.

The incident took place on July 29, 17:00, at the building of the Ministry, Orhus Center. Ministry officials threatened the journalists, “You’re sick, you need some treatment” and “I’ll make you pay whenever I meet you again.”
