Teachers Planning To Hold Protest Rallies

August 4, 2010
The teachers of the Kakheti Public schools, who might lose their jobs from September, are going to hold protest rallies as a response against the Kakheti Governor’s administration.

Approximately, forty teachers from different public schools established an organizational group today.  The meeting was held in the Kakheti Office of the Human Rights Center. According to the regional coordinator of the organization, the release of the school teachers by the principals has no legitimate justification.

“We are going to start a legal dispute when the teachers start to receive pink slips in September. Before this happens, the teachers are going to use different means for protecting their rights as prescribed by the law,” stated Gela Mtivlishvili.

According to Mtivlishvili, the teachers are planning to hold the protest rallies at the administration building of the Kakheti Governor in the near future.
