Large Needy Family is Asking for Help

August 6, 2010
A large family with many children from the Vanta village in the Telavi Region is asking for help to receive poverty assistance program aid. The family members don’t have any identification cards and can’t even get registered for the program “Overcoming Poverty.” The Nuskhelidze family lives in one room. The room doesn’t even have a door, window, floor, or even a table and chairs. There are two old beds in the room. Three small children and their parents live in these conditions.

As the Nuskhelidze family have stated to their neighbors, the parents don’t have a job. Zurab Muskhelidze, the father of the family, often drinks and seldom comes home. His wife is a person of limited capacity and leaves her four year old, two year old and four month old children with no supervision while she goes to get food.

Their neighbor, Maguli Nuskhelidze, noted “We help whoever we can. They could not get the identification cards to receive the program aid.”

According to Ioseb Iosebashvili, several times he tried help the Nuskhelidze family to get identification cards, but with no results.
