The doctors diagnosed him with concussion of brain, the closed trauma of the skull and contusion. The suffering soldier had lost the ability of talking for two months. He still suffers from insomnia, uncontrolled movements and other problems. He doesn’t have enough resources to receive medical treatment.

According to official information, Nika Amirejibi has been serving in the military forces of Georgia since March 2008. On September 11th 2008, the medical battalion military medical commission of the Defense Ministry rendered the soldier useless for the military service. Afterwards, he was dismissed from the job. The Defense Ministry has not paid him any compensation. According to Nika’s mother, Irma Amirejibi, nobody from the Ministry has ever showed any interest in the health situation of the suffering soldier and nobody cared about his treatment.

On the question whether or not Nika Amiraji deserved the compensation after the war, Georgia Defense Ministry representative stated: “No, because he was injured in the unfortunate accident while performing his duties and the accident was not connected to the performance of his duties.”
