8 Teachers Dismissed from Savaneti School

September 14, 2010
The principal of the village Savaneti of Bolnisi municipality, Inga Miqeladze dismissed 8 teachers. “The Minister of Education stated at one of the briefings, that Ministry has never planned the dismissal of teachers. He was saying that the teachers are needed as never before. But the principal of our school Inga Mieqladze dismissed us without any reimbursement, by the head of Bolnisi Resource Center Shorena,” – reads the letter written to the Head of Parliament by the dismissed teachers of the village Savaneti. The letter is signed by dismissed teachers: Teimuraz Alakhverdov, Sevinj Gulieva, Taran Akhmedova da Ulqar Iusipova.

The head of Bolnisi Resource Center Shorena Gabrichidze denies any connection with the dismissal of teachers and states that the hiring and dismissing of teachers is decided by the school management.

The principal of Savaneti School Inga Miqeladze confirms the fact of dismissal of 8 teachers.

“They had very few hours. In the beginning they were class tutors, but then the classes were reduced and they lost this job. I don’t have anything against them personally,” – states Miqeladze.
