Public Officials in Line for Interrogation in Ozurgeti Prosecutor’s Office

Public officials from Guria municipality stand in line for interrogation at the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Ozurgeti. The reason for this is the illegally registered lands in the resort Bakhmaro.

According to the Ozurgeti Municipality there is a list of 15 public officials who are going to leave their jobs soon. As we found out, the head of the Regional Agency of Privatization and Property Registration was summoned to the Office of Prosecutor. And in the office of regional prosecutor, the high officials and public officials were summoned along with the acting and former officials of Tax Department Service of Guria Region.

“President stated that corruption was defeated in Georgia. We are talking about elite corruption now. As it turned out, corruption still prevails in Georgia, and it seems like it’s more than during Shevardnadze administration. Back then these processes were open, now it’s conspired. Corruption disappeared in the low level, but in the average and elite level it’s more prosperous than before Rose Revolution,” – states the head of regional organization of Republican Party Marine Sungulia gloatingly.
