Ingushetia VS President’s Benevolence to Tskhinvali Regime

September 22, 2010
Population of Ingushetia protests benevolence of Ingushetia’s President Yunus-Bek Yevkurov to Tskhinvali de-facto regime; online newspaper ‘Kavkazsky Uzel’ reports.

Yevkurov was severely criticized by his advisor Aslan Kodzoev for visiting Tskhinvali. Kodzoev got irritated by the statement of the head of the administration of the de-facto President Konstantine Pukhaev, who stated after the terrorist act in Vladikavkaz that administrative border between Ingushetia and North Ossetia should be closed.

“A high rank official of this ‘state’ insulted Ingush people as well as entire Russian Federation a week ago if we consider Ingushetia part of Russia. He did not even apologize. I do not mention the activities of these ‘brotherly neighbors’ with support of the Kremlin in 1992 and next years. Kokoity did not apologize for his words either that means it is position of the government. The Foreign Ministry of Russia also kept silence. If we assess the situation according to the activities of our government, it does not make any difference for us,” Evkurov’s advisor wrote.

He said Ingushetia’s President did not act as a leader of Ingushetia but like Russian soldier.

Evkurov visited Tskhinvali on the so called South Ossetian Independence Day on 20 September and took part in the solemn event. He stated in Tskhinvali that Ingushetia and so called South Ossetia plan to increase their cooperation.
