According to the information provided by the local self-government bodies in Kakheti region, since January 1 till September 20 in 2010 the Kakheti News Center has requested the most information from the district administrations and municipal boards in Kakheti region.

“We have sent 141 letters to various governmental agencies in which we requested public information from them. 134 of those letters were sent to the municipal boards and district administrations. We received complete and timely replies only to our 18 letters; in 86 cases the deadline estimated by the law was breached; in 30 cases we did not receive reply at all. We have filed 17 administrative complaints and the public information was released only in 8 cases,” said the editor of the Kakheti News Center Manana Ashkarelishvili.

The editor said they face most obstacles in getting information about salaries, bonuses and expenditure of the budget funds.
