According to Human Rights Defenders, Condition of Prisoners Beaten in Khsani Jail is Severe

According to the representatives of public movement “Solidarity for Illegal Prisoners,” the condition of prisoners beaten in #7 department of Khsani is severe.
The head of the union, lawyer Vladimir Macharashvili stated at the press conference that the prisoners Irakli Tsanava and Leri Maralidze are in the most critical conditions. They are paralyzed from the waist down. According to him, despite numerous addresses, the sick prisoners are not transferred to the medical department.
According to Macharashvili, prisoners Zurab Khachidze, Irakli Dagnadze, Ramaz Muradov, Kakha Abuladze and Davit Ustoian have damages up to this time.
The human rights defenders are asking for the treatment of prisoners and taking relevant measures from the Minister of Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia and the conducting of investigation on the incident of August 19th from the chief prosecutor Murtaz Zodelava.
According to Macharashvili, the prisoners told about the incident of August 19th in Khsani prison in detail. According to prisoners, they were taken out of the cells at 22:00, put in the one cells and severely beaten. When they came back to their cells, it was all robbed, including the icons.
