Russian Militaries Working on the Demarcation of the Occupied Land

October 1, 2010
In the village of Kvemo Niqozi (lower Niqozi) of Gori Region, in the so-called neutral zone, occupants conducted measurement at the administrative border. This was reported to the correspondent of “Interpressnews” by the local residents.

According to one of the witnesses, two days ago three people in uniform and two civilians from the occupied territories passed onto the surrounding lands of Kvemo Niqozi. They started measuring the territory and then marked the measured land with pillars. Then they went back to the occupied territory. Georgian side didn’t respond to their actions.
According to residents, after occupants implemented above mentioned works, they can’t dare to move to the land in the so-called neutral territory because of the absence of security guarantees.

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia spread the information according to which Russian frontiers are conducting the demarcation as a result of which another side of the occupation zone happen to be parts of the following villages: Zemo and Kvemo Niqozi (upper and lower Niqozi), Ditsi, Arbo and Kordi.

Later, Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the renovated information, from which the list of the villages is taken out and it’s indicated that the illegal demarcation conducted by the occupant militaries will significantly hinder the water provision of the surrounding territories, especially the village Ditsi.

Russian frontiers categorically denied the information provided by the Georgian side. Tskhinvali regime stated that they are really working on the establishment of borders but no displacement has taken place inside the Georgian villages.
