Revenue Service Arrested Tens of People As a Result of Special Operation

October 5, 2010
Revenue Service arrested tens of people, including women, as a result of special operation. According to unofficial information, 71 individual undertakers are arrested. The detainees, basically, are the sellers of the trading center – “Kidobani” and “Passage.”

As the officials of the trading center state, the arrest was carried out by the officials of the Revenue Service of the Finance Ministry today morning. The detainees were transferred to the preliminary isolation cell.

According to them, the operation took place at the customs service and in their residence homes. Some were summoned to the investigative service and arrested afterwards.

The individual undertakers of “Kidobani” and “Passage” are stating that the law enforcement officials arrested the leaders of the transit company which was conducting the shifting of their goods from Turkey. This company is LLC “Trans-cargo.”

Besides, the individual undertakers asked “Trans-cargo” to bring all the relevant documentation and receipts as a confirmation that they had bought goods in different stores of Turkey.

According to the sellers, as it’s turned out, “Trans-cargo” was changing the documentation; the company was supposed to issue a separate invoice for all goods that cost 50 GEL, but “Trans-cargo” issued a common invoice for several types of goods; made saving and hid the sums as a result.

As the individual undertakers state, they were not aware of the changing of documentation by “Trans-cargo.”

No official comment is made in the Revenue Service of Finance Ministry regarding the above mentioned.
