13 People Will Have Their Properties Seized in Batumi

October 6, 2010
13 more people will have their properties seized because of urgent public necessity in Batumi. According to the resolution of the president of Georgia, Batumi City Hall has authority for expropriation.

The resolution states that for the development of engineer infrastructure and transportation system new roads are being actively built in Batumi; already existing transportation networks are lengthened, widened and reconstructed.

One of the similar transportation systems, which shall be lengthened and widened, is Bagrationi Street where development activities shall take three stages. At the first stage, the road will be lengthened and widened by crossing Aghmashenebeli Street as a result of what the traffic line alongside the Bagrationi Street will join the road towards the airport.

“In order to carry out the planned construction activities, the property owners do not agree to sell their properties in the area. Thus, we have to expropriate the estates located in the area,” stated the resolution of the president as a result of which 13 people will have their properties seized.

In parallel to it, the property – mostly agricultural plots with its plants and fruit-trees in it – will be seized from the “Turkuaz, Ltd” too.

For the urgent public necessity 13 024 sq. meters of the agricultural land and 1172 sq. meter of non-agricultural land shall be expropriated.
