Human Rights Center Requesting Punishment of Kvareli Police Officials

Human Rights Center is requesting punishment of Kvareli Police officials for beating and threatening a mother of five children with abnormal sexual intercourse. According to the information of human rights defending organization, the criminal case has been filed regarding this issue, but the investigation seems to be protracted.

According to organization, Kvareli police officials assaulted mother of five children Tamar Gelagutashvili verbally and physically on September 14th. According to Gelagutashvili, policemen were requesting confession of theft and threatened her with abnormal sexual intercourse in case of disobedience.

As Gurjaani Regional Prosecutor’s Office stated, the case was requested by Kakheti Regional Prosecutor’s Office. According to information of Kakheti regional Prosecutor’s Office, investigation on other facts of violence by Kvareli police officials is being conducted and the case has been united.
