Citizen Who Had Never Been Abroad Is Deported

October 19, 2010
Lia Mamulashvili, resident of the village Vejini, Gurjaani Region, is not able to go abroad. She’s been turned back by Turkish frontiers on Georgia-Turkey border twice. In the Turkish embassy in Georgia Lia Mamulashvili was explained that she has committed a crime in Turkish territory and was under permanent deportation. Mamulashvili states that she has never been abroad.

Criminal Case has been filed on the corresponding matter. As Kakheti Information Center was informed, unknown individual has been using Lia Mamlashvili’s passport in Turkey. According to Mamulashvili, not too long ago, one of the police officials asked for her passport but never told the reason of his request.

“My son is a student. He needs to go abroad for internship but can’t because of my problem. The documents are not arranged,” – states Mamulashvili.
