October 20, 2010
The former MP Eduard Surmanidze is going to bring suit to the court against German businessman Peter Schwemler.

Surmanidze demands the Court to oblige Schwelmer to pay his debt. As Surmanidze’s attorney Merab Gvilava reported to the “Interpresnews”, they have got hold of documents which confirms existence of the debt. More precisely, they have documents of 2008 2009 in which Schwelmer admits his debts, and which estimates the schedule for paying the debt.

“The German investor used to promise Surmnidze to pay his debt every second day, but he was cheating and was not going to pay anything. We do not deny tour frequent visits to his office and it is not strange at all. I think we had right to visit debtor and to stay in office even for four hours. Besides Surmanidze`s debt, the German businessmen owed money to other people too; among them are two well-known persons, but they refrain from making the information public”  Gvilava stated and added that they refrained from launching case at the court regarding the debt, because the German investor used tom promise them to pay the money back. But then he himself started his provocation. The attorney refused to name the exact amount of the debt.

According to Gvilava, Surmanidze had not intimidated or captured Schwelmer to get his money back. Surmanidze does not plead guilty. He is sentenced to pretrial imprisonment is and he is in Gldani prison #8.Pretrial imprisonment was imposed on Giorgi Berulava and Murtaz Meurmishvili together with Eduard Surmanidze.
