The Scandalous World Atlas Published in Russia Is Taken Out of Market

The atlas published in Russia which depicts Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region inside Georgian borders is taken out of market, report agency “Osinform.”

According to the agency, the publisher of atlas “Olma Media Group” will publish new atlas in November which will correctly depict information on Abkhazia and so-called South Ossetia.

According to “Osinform,” while preparing the forms of “world atlas,” the employers of publishing house made grave technology mistakes and copied 2010 edition from previous atlases.”

“The investigation was conducted in the publishing house regarding this fact and the guilty officials will be punished,” – stated publishing house.

Publishing house “Olma Media Group” published large edition of “universal world atlas” for new academic year. Abkhazia and so-called South Ossetia are depicted inside Georgian borders in the atlas. Regarding Georgia, atlas states: “Along with Georgians, Armenians, Ossetians, Abkhazians, Azerbaijanians and Russians live in Georgia.”

This fact was protested by youth movement “Novie Liudzi” (New People) in Moscow.
