Interrogation of the Supporter of Public Convention Lasted More Than Two Hours

November 11, 2010
Interrogation of the supporter of the Public Convention Mamuka Baghaturia lasted more than two hours in Zugdidi police station. The Public Convention reported to the Interpresnews about it.

They clarified that Baghaturia arrived at the police station together with the attorney where he was called as a witness. “Baghaturia had no connection with any crime or criminals. He is free at the moment,” the Interpresnews was reported from Zugdidi. But they did not clarify for which case Baghaturia was interrogated.

A leader of the Public Convention Nona Gaprindashvili thinks that Baghaturia was interrogated in order to warn him against his future political activities.

“They try to threaten people with similar methods. Everybody should realize that similar situation should not continue for a long time because nothing worse can happen,” Nona Gaprindashvili said.

According to the Public Convention, after the meeting in Zugdidi Culture House, Mamuka Baghaturia was called and asked to go home. He was also threatened with imprisonment. Reportedly, police officer Merab Shengelia threatened him.
