As the Tbilisi Civil Court stated, on November 12th the session took place on the corresponding complaint. The case is heard by the judge Maka Chedya. Kakabadze’s interests are protected by the lawyer Lika Tsiklauri.

Tbilisi City Hall submitted complaint against Irakli Kakabadze requesting 2000 GEL compensation. According to City Hall, in the August of 2010, at the Bush St. Irakli Kakabadze and two other participants of the protest rally, the poets Aleko Chighvinadze and Shota Dighmelashvili damaged the signs of George Bush St. and the airport.

Irakli Kakabadze’s lawyer Lika Tsiklauri stated to Interpressnews, that the city hall presented agreements that confirm that both signs were replaced and it cost about 2000 GEL.

According to Tsiklauri, protest rally participants didn’t damage the airport sign. They confess that damaged the sign, but consider it to be the freedom of expression and they should not be held responsible for it.

In the August of 2010, Irakli Kakabadze and his friends held a protest rally at Bush St. where they requested changing name of Bush St and drew moustaches to the sign.

Kakabadze, Chighvinadze and Dighmelashvili were detained under conviction of resistance against police and imposed 400 GEL fine.
